Description
Calypos is a tamable Heroic Familiar found in Stygaea. The beast can only be tamed if the player possesses a Calypos Mark, and the player must also be wearing Austere Slayer Gear in order to tame Calypos.

“Among the monarchs of Stygea, Calypos is known as the embodiment of grief. Calypos roams Stygea alone for reasons we can only speculate. Little is known of the elusive Calypos, as it takes extraordinary effort to even catch a glimpse of the Monarch of Grief. An ancient text did describe Calypos being distracted once, however, by a hero clad in Austere slayer gear. A Brave hero with the right equipment and mark may be able to break the will of the king of grief. It is said that Calypos's mark can be obtained from the Monarchs of Stygaea.”

Strategy
Calypos is relatively resilient, but two or three players equipped in Temmajin gear can get him to the tamable threshold of around 80% HP in a few minutes. At this point, you will be able to jump on if you have the taming requirements met. Every 20 seconds, Calypos will do an AoE kick that hits extremely hard, and there is no warning for this attack. It's advised to back off when you suspect he is about to do this skill, and bringing a healing class will also be a good help. Calypos cannot spawn untamable.

How to Tame
The player must have a Calypos mark, the recipe for which drops from the Stygaea World Bosses, Magnatu and Jamirot. You must also have the full Austere Slayer gear set, which requires the Modest Slayer gear to upgrade from, and the recipes for this gear can be found at Trigg's Pub. The mobs at the Dread Citadel have a chance of dropping Modest Slayer Gear pieces and a fair amount of Stygaea coins to buy boxes from. These boxes can be bought at Trigg's Pub for 360 Stygaea Coins and will contain a random piece of Austere Slayer Gear. Calypos has a 10 hour respawn timer, so it may be difficult to find him up. He also has 14 total spawn points scattered about Stygaea from Stillhaven all the way up to the Lost Mountain, but he will not move from those points.

Sealing Details
Seal stones are items that turn tamed familiars into items in order to either socket them into your gear for bonus stats or convert to talent points. Sealing Calypos requires an heroic Seal Stone and grants the following bonuses:
