Deathbeak Rodos is an Elite flying familiar that can be found on the northern side of Parna's Steps in Parna's Coast, at roughly 150m up. The player needs to possess a Deathbeak Rodos Mark to tame Deathbeak Rodos.

“Among all the airborne creatures of Parna's Coast, Rodos may be the most beautiful. With its downy coat and huge eyes, it cuts a striking, yet dangerous silhouette over the snowy fields below. Many hunters have attempted to fell this great owl and none of them have returned. Still, hunters of all kinds are lured in by the thought of riding away on such a majestic animal. Taming Rodos requires two combined powers to create a seal stone. Combining the power of a snowy owl and a horned owl at the Familiar Academy should create a magic powerful enough to subdue Rodos. Still, this bird should not be approached without caution, lest you wind up as its prey.”

Strategy
Deathbeak Rodos circles at the same altitude as the nearby Gray Wyrms, so be sure to engage it away from them or clear them out first. It is a relatively straightforward flying melee enemy without any special attacks or tricks.

How to Tame
Taming Deathbeak Rodos requires a Deathbeak Rodos Mark, the recipe for which drops from the Bonethorpe dragons flying at roughly 350m above Parna's Steps. It is not a guaranteed drop and may require several kills to obtain. The Mark itself occasionally drops from Young Megantes and from Elite mobs in the Broken Caldera and Parna's Coast.

Once acquired, the recipe itself needs:

• 5 Snowy Owl (sealed)
• 5 Horned Owl (sealed)
• 30 Familiar Orb
• 8 Elite Taming Potion

As an Elite familiar, lowering Rodos's health is not required to tame it. Like all familiars, being several levels stronger than Rodos will make taming it significantly easier.
