[Guide] Familiar Synthesis

Greetings to you!

Picture this: you launch the game, log in to your character, decide to have a look at your favourite familiars and… what in Ellora’s name is this button?
And when you click on it, the window looks similar to familiar tempering… and yet it’s not that.



So, what do we have here? No place for familiar catalysts as in tempering, just some slots for familiars themselves and absolutely no idea what will turn out. Interesting new mechanic – though it still can be overwhelming if you are new to the game that already has a lot of features to learn.

Don’t worry, though! Let your humble priest explain everything, and you’ll see that it’s not as complicated as it looks.

The word “synthesis” surely already speaks for itself: you take A, B and C, let them cook together and get something new out of them. In our case, those ABCs are – and you guessed it right – familiars. This process allows players not only to get some familiars from general bestiary, but also to obtain some really unique ones. Like this little one, for example:

And it is actually easier than it seems, so let’s try it together! I actually have some spare common Laikus here – grabbed them while fighting my way through in Ellora’s Spire. They are very, very cute… But I want to try and morph them into something nice. Who knows, maybe they will turn into a much greater creature?

Laiku, Laiku and one more Laiku – just right here. Oh, there are two different grades shown under the familiar slots! My goddess hinted that these are the minimal and maximal possible grades of the familiar which you will get after the synthesis is complete.

Well, surely the chance of getting Heroic familiar is much smaller than to get something Elite or Common, but let us try this out. Just need some gold for good luck aaaand…

Merciful Ellora! The genetics in Icarus are very… curious. But let us experiment more! What if in the name of science I sacrifice Rodesh and Paragas? I was thinking about Ancient Caspert or Demonus, but Ellora noted that these are already good as they are… Well, I can only agree – these creatures are indeed majestic. Anyways…

...okay, at this point I prefer not to question the divine design, so let’s just say it’s Ellora’s will for everything – even for turning two absolutely different creatures into something completely new. My little sister Kalandra, for example, caught four Terror Keravs (I think I heard Rondo crying that day…), split them in two pairs and experimented on them. First time she got a gorgeous pegasus whom she really adores, the second time she got Longhorn Bajarn. She is happy with the results, don’t worry. It didn’t stop her from taming another Kerav, though… sorry Rondo.

But I digress. After all I told you, don’t you think it’s wonderful that we can experiment and try things out? and finally use all those marks that are gathering dust in our banks

Now, let us put together some rules for successful synthesis.

• You don't need to seal the familiars, just drag and drop them right from your familiar info menu.
• Every familiar used for synthesis must be at max level.
• Familiars should not be tempered.
• Familiars used for synthesis will be gone after it’s completed.
• You can put familiars of different grades into synthesis slots.
• The higher grade and the rarer familiars you use, the better the outcome. The amount of the familiars plays a big role as well.
• There are no “recipes” for familiars, just pure random. Luckily, you will never get a lower-grade familiar – for example, Elite one if you combine Heroic and/or Legendary familiars.
• Some Legendary familiars are not suitable for synthesis. Among them are Ancient familiars (like Veldon or Caspert), legendary familiars from 40 Lvl dungeons and Silver Infernasus.

When everything is in check, you just put up to four familiars into those slots, pay some gold, say “abracadabra” (or sing like Lady Gaga!)...
