The Large Plains Bird is found flying above the River of Resurrection around 150m - 170m in the air. There aren't any other aggressive mobs that will attack you, only other Large Plains Birds.

How to Tame
The Large Plains Bird flying around Akrat Plains is a common flying mount. Like most commons, it require a mark in order to be tamed. Though, it is recommended to lower it's health significantly before attempting to tame since it is a high level mount. Lowering it's health increases your chance of successful taming.
